Refund Policy
Your money is refundable until the moment your card becomes uniquely yours, the instant engraving starts. Before that, one tap gets it back.

In plain language
- The reserve deposit (from ₹1,000) is fully refundable any time before we start engraving.
- If your chip turns out incompatible, you get a 100% automatic refund, no questions asked.
- Once engraving starts, your card is custom-made for you, so it's covered by our guarantees rather than open returns.
- Refused or undelivered COD orders: the deposit covers the crafting we already did for you.
The reserve deposit
You reserve any design from ₹1,000 via Razorpay (Classic ₹1,000, TapNpay ₹2,000). This deposit is fully refundable until engraving starts. This is stated at the point of payment, not buried here.
Before crafting begins you can request a refund yourself from your order’s tracking page or on WhatsApp, and the full deposit is returned to your original payment method.
If we haven’t dispatched within our stated window, the deposit auto-refunds. You don’t have to chase us.
Incompatible chip = automatic full refund
If, after you reserve, your card’s chip turns out to be incompatible with the transfer, you receive a 100% automatic refundof everything paid. We’d rather refund you than ship something that won’t work. Run the 10-second chip check on the product page (or send a thumb-redacted photo on WhatsApp) before you pay.
After engraving starts
Once we begin engraving, your metal card is uniquely yours. It can’t be resold, so it isn’t eligible for an open return. Instead it’s covered by our Chip-Safe Guarantee: if a self-transfer goes wrong we provide a free video-call assist, a free replacement kit/shell, or a free full-service redo.
Worst case: a chip damaged beyond use. Your bank reissues the chip and we re-transfer it into your metal card free.
Engraving & finish warranty
If the engraving or finish has a defect from our workmanship, we redo it free within the stated warranty period [OWNER-VERIFY: period]. This covers our craft, not ordinary wear. No “return unused” fictions.
Doorstep pickup fee
The ₹400 doorstep pickup add-on (full-service orders only) is refunded together with your deposit if you cancel before the pickup happens. Once we have collected your card, the pickup is done and that fee has been used.
Custom designs
A custom card books with the same ₹1,000 deposit, refundable until engraving starts. Nothing is engraved before you approve the preview on WhatsApp. If you cancel, we delete the design files you uploaded (see the privacy policy).
Cash on delivery (COD)
COD adds a 20%surcharge on the balance only (never on the deposit). For Classic self-transfer that’s ₹1,000 online now + ₹2,399 cash on delivery = ₹3,399 total. You can pay the balance online instead and skip the surcharge.
Because your card is made specifically for you, a refused or undelivered COD order forfeits your deposit. It covers the crafting we already did. Your details must be completed before dispatch.
How to request a refund
Use the refund button on carboncraft.in/track, or message us on WhatsApp from your order thread. Approved refunds go back to your original Razorpay payment method; bank settlement timelines apply [OWNER-VERIFY: typical days]. We only refund through Razorpay, never via a personal UPI transfer.
